When does the Chittenden Humane Society close for the day?
Please note we have limited services one hour prior to closing. Dog visitations end at 5:30PM on weekdays and at 3:30PM on Saturday. While we do our best to accommodate all visitors, if you are interested in adopting, we recommend visiting us earlier in the day.

When was the Humane Society of Lake County created?
Founded in 1976 as an organization solely for charitable purposes and has the general responsibility to operate for the advancement of humane treatment and the prevention of cruelty to animals. The Humane Society of Lake County (HSLC) is not an affiliate or chapter of any national organization, including the Humane Society of the United States.
